German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation.

Felix (Latin for Lucky and Happy) is indeed, a lucky, sweet, happy boy! We were able to literally snatch up this gorgeous boy from the jaws of death at the last minute from a Missouri pound, where he was scheduled to be euthanized for space via the inhumane heartstick method.

Felix is estimated to be around 7 years old, based on his physical appearance and energy level. This stunning, sweet boy is a calm, mellow but active dog who enjoys going on outings about the town with his humans (patio terraces, Farmers Market, baseball games, walks , etc..). He is great with people of all ages, and dogs of all sizes. He knows how to chill around other older dogs, but likes to play & chase (gently) younger, more playful pups. And don't let his size and mellow looks deceive you: he is fast, when he wants to be! He rides nicely in a car. Felix is the perfect dog for the beginner German Shepherd owner, or for anyone looking for a friendly, low-maintenance, gorgeous companion for years to come. 

This handsome, regal, friendly, big boy will delight his future pet parents, and will be the envy of other pet owners, as his wonderful temperament and amazing looks are unmatched!
