Red is a very handsome, regal 8 y.o. senior boy whom we were able to rescue from a high-kill shelter in California, thanks to the amazing Miracle GSD Network. Red's backstory, is a sad one. From Friends of North Central Shelter - Los Angeles Animal Services: "He originally was a Police Academy reject for not being “aggressive enough” and he was adopted out to a family that loved him very much. Unfortunately, Red’s owner was struck with a debilitating nerve disease that caused him to lose the use of the left side of his body. He had to shut down his family business and felt he no longer had the means, physically or financially, to take care of Red. A shelter intervention program stepped in and helped the owner for two years with driving Red to vet visits when needed and providing dog food. Ultimately, the owner felt he could no longer handle it and when Red got a major ear infection, he turned him in to the shelter".

Red has just arrived into rescue with us, and we are just getting to know him. From what we have been told, Red appears to be good with other dogs. He is an amazing dog who knows all his basic commands (sit, down, stay). He loves children and is a dedicated and intelligent friend. He loves to go for walks, car rides. He is a gentle giant who spending time with his humans.
